Plan Your Visit

• Muni Bus Lines 5, 6, 9, 21, 47, and 71 stop within three blocks of Herbst. All Muni underground lines and the F streetcar stop at Van Ness and Market. Then walk three blocks north to Grove or McAllister Street.
• The nearest BART station is Civic Center.
• From the North Bay, take Golden Gate Transit Lines 10, 70, 80, 92, 93 or 101 to Van Ness Avenue and Turk Street, then walk three blocks south to Grove Street. Check schedules in advance.
• Connections to BART & Muni can be made from Caltrain, AC Transit, and SamTrans.

If you are traveling from the South Bay or Peninsula

• Take 101 North to the 9th Street Exit.
• At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto 9th St.
• Continue northbound across Market Street. You are now on Larkin Street.
• At the third traffic light turn left onto McAllister.
• Continue two blocks to Van Ness Avenue and turn left.

From the East Bay

• Take I-80 West, via the Bay Bridge to the 9th Street/Civic Center Exit
• Stay right on the exit ramp. Turn left onto Harrison Street.
• Turn right onto 9th St.
• Continue northbound across Market Street. You are now on Larkin Street.
• At the third traffic light turn left onto McAllister.
• Continue two blocks to Van Ness Avenue and turn left.

From the North Bay

• Cross the Golden Gate Bridge.
• Follow the signs to Downtown via Lombard St.
• Turn right onto Van Ness Avenue.
• Continue Southbound to McAllister Street.

• The PresidiGo system is free and available to all. It runs seven days a week from Embarcadero BART and Transbay Terminal, with stops throughout the Presidio. All PresidiGo shuttles have wheelchair ramps and bike racks.
• Muni Bus Lines 1, 29, 30, and 45 provide service to or near the Presidio

Parking is available around the Main Post of the Presidio. Be sure to note the parking regulations: Some zones are free, while others require payment 7 days a week.
